I know how everyone loves Tandoori Chicken. Vasant Shinde is an archeologist and Deccan College’s vice-chancellor mentioned with earliest evidence that Tandoori Chicken was invented in civilization of Harappan back in 3000 BC. His team found ‘tandoors’ at Kalibangan which resembles with our modern day ‘tandoors’. And the team also found physical residue of some bones of chicken with marks of char. In the US, tandoori chicken has started appearing on the menus by time in 1960s. In 1962, Jacqueline Kennedy described to have the ‘chicken tandoori’ on her Rome to Bombay trip. The chicken tandoori was printed in 1963 in the Los Angeles Times as ‘the hostess in search of fresh idea for a party dinner’. And in 1964, a similar kind of recipe was mentioned in Los Angeles Times newspaper only.

Tandoori chicken is the dish prepared by spices in tandoor, roasted chicken marinated in yogurt and a cylindrical clay oven. People are mad for this popular dish in Indian subcontinent. Tandoori chicken has become sought-after in the rest parts of the world.

It could also have as an appetizer or starter, or also as the main course which is frequently eaten along with naan. Also utilized as foundation of several cream curries like the item butter chicken.
